I’m a drummer, percussionist and music educator. My performance work spans both popular and less-popular music genres, alongside research into embodied rhythm, collaborative music-making and music education in diverse community settings.
I’ve taught across Higher, Further & Adult education for over two decades supporting musicians through major projects, ensemble work and professional preparation. My teaching emphasises musical fluency, stylistic literacy and reflective practice, and has been formally recognised as “outstanding” in external inspection.
Beyond formal education, I design rhythm-based wellbeing programmes for organisations, schools and community groups, integrating group percussion, improvisation and accessible music-making processes. My workshops, materials and publications aim to expand access to music while supporting creative confidence and transferable skills.
I continue to perform, write and facilitate collaborations, with an ongoing interest in percussion, technology, and the bridging of artistic, educational and therapeutic contexts.
Past students include Georgia South (Nova Twins) Becky Thomas (Director, London Community Gospel Choir / Vocal Coach) Ty (Mercury-nominated Hip-Hop Artist) Tristan Anderson (BAFTA-winning filmmaker and composer) Billy Brown (Independent artist / Ladytron) Geo Gabriel (Madonna, Leona Lewis, Nick Cave) Lady Marga (MOBO winner, MC, Basement Jaxx) Jasmine Knight (Drum & Bass Artist / Loopmasters) Henry Williams (Kamaal Williams, Yussef Kamaal)…and many, many others who continue to carve out meaningful paths in music, production, education, and the creative industries.
